The Certificate III in Music Industry is a full year course. It also forms the first year of the two year Certificate IV in Music Industry at Cyril Jackson. Students who complete the Certificate III in Music qualify to complete the Certificate IV in Music Industry the following year. An interview is a prerequisite for this performance based qualification to determine readiness to study at this level.
It is recommended for students with experience in guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or voice who wish to work in the music industry. Performance, song writing and music industry skills are developed. You will create and market your own original Demo and work together in groups to perform at, run and organise several live performances.
You are required to work independently to gather evidence and maintain a portfolio of work samples and relevant information. You must own your own instrument and accessories. By completing this course, you can apply to study Contemporary Music at tertiary institutions such as WA Academy of Performing Arts at ECU, or a Diploma in Music at the Central Institute of Technology.
Suitability for enrolment in the Certificate III in Music Industry is assessed individually.
