This course is for students who want to acquire basic computer skills. Students entering this course are recommended to have basic keyboarding skills.
You will learn how to use a personal computer, the Internet to communicate and search, digital devices and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for personal use and employment.
The course includes six (6) units of competency from the nationally accredited Information and Communications Technology training package and is recognised Australia wide. The units making up this course, as listed below, meet the requirements for three (3) Curriculum and Standards Authority endorsed units.
Successful completion of this course will lead to a nationally recognised, industry-based qualification, Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology, and provides the skills to be able to enter Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology. Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology is issued through the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) YMCA.
