For both competitions, CJ students honed their skills in their Physical Education and Recreation classes before competing against other schools. For many students it was the first time they played in a competitive game of AFL or netball.
Deb Fitzsimons, one of CJ’s teachers, said, ‘Both carnivals were a huge success. They were a great opportunity for students to be part of a team and experience sportsmanship. The students tried out their skills in a safe and supportive environment.’
Next term, students interested in further developing their AFL skills can nominate and apply for selection to the Bakari Swans, a squad organised and trained by Swan Districts Football Club. Students that are selected will train after school on Wednesdays.
Other sports CJ Physical Education courses focus on are badminton, tennis, volleyball and a specialist soccer program. Please click to view the range of courses.
