Cyril Jackson Senior Campus students were treated to healthy lifestyle options as part of the school’s annual Health Festival last week.
The event, co-ordinated by Campus Community Co-ordinator Deb Fitzsimons, said the festival was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about everything to do with living. “More than 50 agencies presented activities and information along with Cyril Jackson-based stalls covering every aspect of health,” she said.
“There were delicious samples of healthy food, and fun activities such as face painting, belly dancing, music and sporting challenges. There was also practical information on a wide range of serious health issues, presented engagingly through quizzes and giveaways.
Ms Fitzsimons said the school’s key objectives were to teach life skills to its diverse range of students and the festival played a significant role in this. “We also had visiting schools and the event was deemed a huge success in providing education on physical, mental, social and sexual health matters and much more,” she said.
