Cyril Jackson Music Students celebrate their Certificate III and IV Graduation with the release and launch of their highly anticipated compilation Shoop Shoop on Thursday 31st October at the Rosemount Hotel. Buy tickets here.
Over the past year seven students have been studying contemporary music and Shoop Shoop is the culmination of their exploration of styles and themes during this course. It sees the students working together across the 12 track compilation to bring you an enjoyable and eclectic listen.
Recorded by Andy Lawson from Debaser Studio at the school, the students were given the opportunity to gain insight into the recording process, further rounding out their education.
Thanks go out to the Year 11 & 12 Photography Students without which the compilation cover art and press shots would not have been developed.
Students who feature on the album include: Amara Hicks, Darcy Braithwaite, Jamie Burrell, Kira Gunn, Luke Dear, Tima Mareko Munro and Chrissie Pavlovic.
You will be able to get your atmospheric satisfaction with Kira Gunn’s track ‘Sandcastles’, have a psychedelic rock fix with Darcy Braithwaite’s ‘Utopian Girl’, and rock out to Jamie Burrell’s ‘Shallow Hell’ – with these just being a taste of what this compilation truly has to offer.
The launch will see these seven students performing alongside one another to bring these tracks to life at the Rosemount Hotel on Thursday October 31. Doors open 6:30. Tickets are $10 for General Admission or $5 for Concession, available through the Rosemount Hotel website or on the day at the door. The compilation will also be available for $10.
